Paul Hewitt Architect specialises in the extension, alteration, conservation and repair of existing and historic buildings and the construction of ecologically sound buildings. Paul Hewitt Architect is an RIBA Chartered Practice and is on the Register of Architects Accredited in Building Conservation. This register of approved architects was set up by English Heritage to work on their grant aided projects. The majority of the practice's work is on historic and listed buildings and Paul Hewitt has many years of experience in this field, working on a variety of buildings including castles, churches, country houses, dovecotes, farm buildings, houses, lodges, monuments, priories, schools, stables, pottery kilns and water mills throughout Yorkshire.

The practice also works in association with a variety of other advisors as required on specific projects including Archaeologists, Access Consultants, Architectural Historians, Buildings Archaeologists, Damp and Timber Specialists, Dowsers, Ecological Design Advisors, Environmental Advisors, Fire Risk Assessors, Landscape Architects, Planning Consultants, Quantity Surveyors, Specialist Contractors, Structural Engineers and VAT Consultants and can advise on building the right team for each project.
